• It is the right of the citizens to be provided public health services such as disease prevention and health promotion services, including health education, vaccination, quality air and water, hygiene and sanitation services, etc.

• It is the patient’s right to be treated and health educated or counseled by healthcare providers on the causes and the preventive measures the patient should take to avoid a repeat of his or her illness.

• Racism, nepotism and all forms of discrimination – like apartheid – should be abolished, especially in the health sector because they increase the death rate of citizens.

• Good governance includes equitable distribution of resources between public health services and the curative healthcare services.
